Quick checklist
- Before you book: check entry rules and compare insurance cover.
- Before you fly: recheck entry, levy, customs, and health processes.
- On arrival: follow official instructions and use legitimate transport.
Passport, visa & entry preparation
Check nationality or passport, travel purpose, stay length, passport validity and condition, onward or return proof, and the current entry process with Indonesian Immigration.
Travel insurance
Compare medical care and evacuation, trip interruption, activities, exclusions, pre-existing conditions, excesses, and proof requirements. This is not an insurer recommendation.
Tourist levy & customs
The Bali tourist levy, customs declarations, ordinary tourist spending, and income-tax questions are separate matters. Use official government portals.
Health & safety
Prepare vaccines and medicines with a qualified clinician; plan for heat, sun, mosquitoes, animals, ocean conditions, and emergencies.
Money, connectivity & transport
Carry more than one payment method, use licensed providers, prepare connectivity and offline copies, and use legitimate transport with the correct licence and cover.
Balinese culture
Respect temples, offerings, ceremonies, communities, and the environment. Follow local instructions and Bali government visitor guidance.
